A Winter’s Tale: Calypso Captured Through Bianca Jackson’s Lens

Winter is often seen as a season of stillness—quiet, cold, and serene. But when talented photographer Bianca Jackson visited Calypso during this season, she brought with her a fresh perspective that turned our Airbnb into a warm and cosy retreat.

The outlook towards the north at Calypso, in St Helens, Tasmania.

Bianca, a professional photographer based in the Otways, is renowned for her ability to capture moments that feel both timeless and otherworldly. Her signature style blends natural beauty with an almost ethereal quality, turning even the most ordinary scenes into works of art. When she stayed at Calypso, it was no different. The house, which already has a special vibe, was elevated by Bianca’s unique eye, revealing a side of Calypso that even we hadn’t fully noticed before. Here is just a small selection of lovely images.

We were absolutely thrilled with the results. Bianca has a rare gift of making spaces feel alive, telling their story through light, texture, and composition. Whether it was the subtle play of natural light streaming through the windows or the way the winter landscape outside framed the house’s warmth, she truly captured Calypso at her most glamorous best. Winter at Calypso has never looked so good.

Binalong Bay, only a short drive from Calypso, is famous for its sparkling aqua waters and white sandy beaches. On the day Bianca visited, however, the weather was bleak and chilly. Yet through her lens, the scene took on a moody, romantic allure.
